When beginning a journey, it’s important to know the destination ahead of setting the course for navigation. It’s a reality test to always question if what you are doing is leading you in the direction towards your destination. If not, that direction needs to change. Always having site on the end result is important in remaining focused and determined to achieve success.
My clients and I always begin our journey by discussing what is most important in the short and long term to my client. We strategically plan activities in order to meet those unique goals which sets a success plan. I have found that in collaborating with my clients regarding sustainable wellness, having the right people engaged in the success of any plan is the key to achieving the goals.
Those right people are positive role models towards success. The right role models serve as living and breathing mental images that help us visualize the way we would like to live. They are touchstones, reference points if you will, that we can learn from and measure against, while we build the person we want to be.
What kinds of role models are best? No question about it, people we can actually get to know. You see, while it’s helpful to read about an admirable person in a book or magazine, watch an inspiring life story in the movies, or watch successful people on TV, it is much more powerful when we can actually interact with someone who shows us possibilities for ourselves and inspires us in their own special way.
When we can interact with those inspiring people on a daily or regular basis, this has the most powerful impact of all. If you aren’t seeing the change you want, if you find yourself searching for a plan towards sustainable health, wellness and fitness, look to those that inspire you and surround yourself with those special people that will support your journey and be your best cheerleader.
Until next time,
